Operation Revamp
Hi, I’m Krysh – proud owner of Honey B’s Tea Room in Kiveton Park.
I’m reaching out to ask for your help in giving our much-loved cafe a well-deserved facelift. We’re aiming to raise £7,000 to transform both our customer area and food preparation space, and we’d be so grateful for your support.
A Little Background...
I officially took over the café in October 2023, after a long six-month process that cost us more than expected due to a few minor setbacks during the purchase. Many of our lovely regulars already know that we hit unexpected roadblocks almost immediately – including a collapsed roof just one day after getting the keys, and being unexpectedly left with no working coffee machine. We had to quickly spend our savings on essential repairs and surprise equipment replacements just to open the doors.
Because of this, the revamp that we’d originally planned to do straight away had to be put on hold.
Why We're Asking for Your Help
Since we opened, Honey B’s has become more than just a cafe – it's become a community hub for Kiveton, Harthill, Anston, and beyond.
For some of our customers, we serve the only hot meal they’ll have that day. Others come to us because they struggle to find food that meets their dietary needs – we’re proud to cater for allergies, gluten free and vegan customers. For many, we offer the only friendly conversation they’ll have all day.
We’re a little safe haven, a place where people feel seen, heard, and cared for – and we want the physical space to reflect that warmth.
What Your Donation Could Help Us Do:
✨ Comfy, sturdy seating – new tables, chairs, and armchairs for cosy cuppa moments
✨️ New food prep area – to help us work more safely and efficiently
️✨Install air conditioning – to make warm days more bearable for everyone
✨Make our entrance more wheelchair-friendly – by levelling the threshold bump
✨Upgrade the toilet – including adding a baby changing station
✨New signage & wall menus – to improve clarity and visibility
✨Refreshed display space – for local crafters, authors, and our book corner
✨Restore the original elements of the interior - particularly the wooden beams & fireplace (if possible - this 100% depends on how much damage there actually is, but we will only find that out when the project starts!)
✨ Improve the garden – with vibrant flowers, bike racks, covered seating (with heaters for colder months), and a wheelchair accessible table
✨ Maybe even add outdoor activities for kids & dogs (if funds allow!)
Every improvement is focused on making our space more welcoming, inclusive, and comfortable – not just for our current regulars, but for new friends we’ve yet to meet.
A New Chapter
As part of the revamp, we’ll also be changing the cafe's name. “Honey B’s” was passed on from the previous owners – and while it’s served us well, this revamp feels like the right time to create something that’s truly our own. We already have the name picked out, but you'll have to wait for the big reveal for this one!
Stay Involved
Everyone who donates will be invited to follow the revamp journey with us. If you'd like to receive updates, you can drop your email in the form or message us on our Facebook page. We’ll only use it to keep you posted on progress!
Every Penny Helps
Whether you can give 50p or £50, every donation brings us closer to creating a space our whole community can be proud of. Thank you so much for your kindness and support – past, present, and future.
Want to donate?
We're happy to take bank transfers, and we’ve also got a collection piggy bank at the café for anyone who wants to pop a few coins in when they visit. All tips collected go towards the refurbishment project. Every penny counts – and means the world to us! We also take bank transfers for donations.
Thank you so much for supporting your local, independent, dog-friendly, book-loving cosy café. I can't wait to be able to show you what we have planned!
With love,
Krysh and the team

Here is what the inside of the cafe currently looks like. As you can see, the tables, chairs, walls and fireplace all need some TLC.

Here's an example of the sort of style that we want to have at the cafe. One of the big things that we want to add is a new, comfortable, seating area for our coffee and cake customers.
